Beat up

Wow...what a great time! The Bigun and Di-Licious met up with...everyone...at IMFL this weekend. We got tons of pictures and video that need sorting, and all kinds of stories to tell, most are true, some will be, shall we say, exaggerated - or rather - mostly true. You can certainly look forward to some fun stuff here in the coming days. A little Weekend Update. A little Adventures of Taconite Boy. So stick around for that.

Why beat up, you ask? The temps dropped like a rock here in Florida and caught me unawares and unprepared....so I'm sick as a dog after a 7 hr drive home...my knee hurts, probably from running on the beach, and I've now missed a day in my 30^3 challenge, that I will attempt to make up, if possible, with a 2-a-day during the week. Perhaps I should even punish myself for the missed day with two 2-a-days....we'll see.

Sooo great meeting you and Diana. mmmmmmwahhh! Thanks for all your cheering and support. I had a blast.
Take care of that knee. You ran on a wet sandy beach that had a slope of about 15 degrees, Bonehead. Oh. Sorry. Didn't mean to say that outloud. ;-)
Better to let that heal properly and FULLY. NOW. Before you get into the longer runs for CDA. Screw the 30 ^ 3 thing. That's gotta go for now. Trust me, you will need that knee on the bike AND on the run. You want to be crying tears of joy, not agony.
Can't wait to see you guys in June!!!!

Make up a day on a sore knee? I think not. In running there is a famous saying, "There is No Makeup - only do or not do" I think that's how it goes. Anyhow the rule says if you miss a day you let it go and if your knee hurts you put ice on it.

Feel better and of course don't press the recovery too hard just to stick on an arbitrary plan.

It's great to hang w/ fellow bloggers. If your sick or healing from a sickness perhaps you should not do 2-a-days. But if anyone could handle it you could.

Stick to the arbitrary plan. Punish yourself. It's all about discipline.

Run to the pool, swim 1k, run 1 mi, swim 1 k, run home and you are good to go.

Careful with the beach running. Lack of stability can cause not only knee issues but foot and achillies issues as well.
