AZ now tentative

Aaaaak! We had to pull the plug on IMAZ'08 this weekend. After careful consideration of the bank accounts and air fares, we decided it wasn't in our mortgage's best interest to fly to Phoenix in 9 weeks. We are very disappointed, and while we are still working towards a business windfall which will enable us to make a last minute trek to Tempe, we just cannot commit to it at this time. Perhaps we have a boxed up item worth thousands on e-bay in the garage?

That does, of course put a monkey wrench in our '09 race plans. I was just looking at the Beach to Battleship again...$250 entry fee for '08, we can drive there (no airfare)...I don't know, it's a possibility as a late-season Iron-distance event. Our race dollar priority for next year is still the Minnesota Border to Border - having just learned that my boy Blink and the Blinkettes may come up and ride with us, not as race participants, but as a long training weekend. Very cool.

IMAZ may have to take a raincheck until 2010.... Craaaap!

That is a rough one bigun. I feel your pain. This sport is way too expensive and there are WAY too many awesome races that I want to do.

I say you start a business organizing the "walmart" of ironmans. Races that get the job done, aren't as good looking, but a whole lot cheaper. That should be your new venture! I'd give you my money...

That really sucks although I would love a scouting report from B2B as the NM Outlaws are doing that one next year. We are getting off the NAS train I think...tired of the $$ we have to spend..
Hope things work out for AZ though. It will be a party!

After my NorthEast vacation including Lake Placid. I have LP 2010 on my plans! In fact I'm going to be looking for a group of people who want to ride over and volunteer this year to get a spot for 2010. We could meet and pick you up somewhere in southern Pa!

That's too bad Bigun, but I predict you'll have a great '09 season no matter which races you take on!

Bigun, that's too bad about AZ. But you can always Get Lucky in Kentucky: IMLOU 2010!

Arghhh - I feel you pain. I bailed out of IM Florida 08 for the same reason.
Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.
Hugs, Jenny
p.s. - I hope you still want to do the MN B2B!

If this years reviews of B2B are good, I am in next year. I'm moving to camp Lejuene NC so it will be 30 miles away.

What's the deal with not wanting to do IMFL?

That really sucks. You were really looking forward to IMAZ. If you change your mind about Bay to Battleship, let me know. I'm making that my A race for next year.

Awe. You mean there are responsible people out there who care about paying their mortgage? LOL - ok that was ugly.

I might be back for 2010...maybe.
