First Tri of the Year

Oh yea, I did it. Pulled the trigger. Perspective is a funny thing. After non-stop training for 3 years, the big "pull the trigger" event was IMCdA. After an 8 month layoff, the big deal is signing up for the local sprint. And being worried about it!

This is the banner sprint event in the Tampa area for the Triathlon Community. The Mad Beach Triathlon. This will be my 4th running of it. It all boils down to two words. Say it with me now.

Beer Tent.

I always think that it is harder to work up from 0 to 3 miles of running than from 3 to 20! This race looks like good fun...

Hey Bigun its about damn time...although easy for me to say because I'm not working 80 hours a week with 3 different jobs. Hopefully this will be the beginning of a new era!

Welcome back!

Hi Bigun,
Like all events - it starts with just one step... Motivation is relative - remember though that you only get into the Beer tent AFTER completing the race...
Just in case you'd forgotten...
Well done on getting back in the game. Good luck for the day.

I'm probably too late, but here's a few: post race soak (hot OR cold). Pizza. Steak (if you're into that kind of thing. Ew.) Oh, and that feeling of superiority to whomever sat around gaining more weight.
